Environmental Policy
ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY
Maisie&Murphy is committed to minimising the impact of its activities on the environment.
The key points of its strategy to achieve this are:
- Minimise waste by evaluating operations and ensuring they are as efficient as possible.
- Actively promote recycling both internally and amongst its customers and suppliers.
- Source and promote a product range to minimise the environmental impact of both production and distribution.
- Using as far as possible sustainable products which are ethically made.
-
Meet or exceed all the environmental legislation that relates to the Company.
🌟Please help support our mission by reusing or recycling our packaging. 🌟
Here are some steps we are taking to reduce our environmental impact 👇
📦 All of our packaging is recyclable right down to our business leaflets, garment tags and jute string
📦Our packaging is manufactured in the uk/ Eu
📦Where possible our packaging is made from recycled materials - tissue paper, business leaflets. We also keep and reuse packaging from deliveries we are sent
✨Each item is made to order with the exception of market stock to reduce waste
🌲A tree is planted with every website order with Ecologi - We have planted 1264 trees since implementing this
👕Our T-shirts are 100% organic cotton with the exception of our tie dye tees
🎒Our backpacks cross body bags and bum bags are made with recycled plastics
🚮We Sell or repurpose imperfect item
♻️Our pre-loved items !! Used items are given a new lease of life
⭕️The fabric used for our decorative hoops is repurposed from write off tees (too badly damaged to be sold as imperfect) and my grans old curtains
✍️Our pet portraits are drawn on recycled card
👜Our tote bags are earth positive and made with 100% organic cotton
🧸Our dog toys we stock are eco friendly (biodegradable) or handcrafted by small businesses
🛍️We work with and support small businesses often to help our local economy
💭We encourage considered shopping- we create pieces we hope will resonate with you on a meaningful level which results in items being worn more often and kept much longer
Next steps:
👉Work with more small brands who’s ethos aligns with ours
👉Trade at more shows- cutting out the carbon emissions created when posting
👉Find a use for our embroidery backing cut offs which I’ve been *collecting* for years
👉Continue to add products to our collections that are sustainable
👉Plant more treeeeees (eventually we’d like to plant a tree per item ordered across all platforms)
My thoughts:
🌎Please check the environmental policy for any business you intend to purchase from.
🌎Shop consciously
🌎Look out for companies who use greenwashing tactics
